Poland will deploy Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems delivered from Germany within two to three months. The timing was announced on the air of Polskie Radio S.A. by the head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Wojciech Skurkiewicz.
“This issue will be resolved within a maximum of two to three months,” he said. The minister added that “intensive coordination” is underway in Warsaw regarding the deployment of complexes and their integration into the Polish air defense system.
According to Skurkiewicz, the Polish and German military held several consultations a few days ago. The Minister stressed that the issue of the rapid deployment of complexes is in the first place.
On December 12, Polish President Andrzej Duda announced that Poland and Germany will deploy German Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMs) on the border with Ukraine “in the coming days.”
Prior to that, the official representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Germany, Steffen Hebenstreit, said that at the moment Germany does not have Patriot systems available to send to Ukraine.
