Helsinki has allocated 5 million euros for the restoration of Ukrainian energy and its green transition. This is reported in a statement published on the website of the Government of Finland.
The amount will be transferred to Kiev through the financial organization Nefco (“Nefco”). It is noted that the money will also be spent “on the restoration of critical infrastructure, housing and medical services” of Ukraine.
“The green Recovery program managed by Nefco is focused on providing financial and technical support to Ukrainian municipalities in the implementation of projects for the restoration of the country and the green transition,” the document states.
It is noted that Nefco, under its leadership, launched the Ukrainian green transition program in July 2022. The Finnish government expects that Ukraine will soon begin phasing out the use of fossil fuels.
